Normal POV

A new race for life and love would soon begin, the clashing of titans, and new power such as the likes of Shadow the Hedgehog and his allies have never seen.  

Reality will be stretched, lives will be lost, decisions will be made, and hearts will be joined.  

As night fell, Shadow the Hedgehog stretched his legs and lay down on his G.U.N bed, closing his eyes to yet again relive his age-old memories of the incident on the ARK, now fifty-two years ago.   

Sonic, out of breath form his last run, lounged happily against the alley wall.

Amy Rose shut her diary and sighed happily.  Moving on from Sonic had been like being released from a trap; they were both free and firm friends.

Knuckles leant against his Master Emerald, stroking it and assuring it that he will never let any harm come to it.  But its pulse was louder and more irregular now.  He, too, sensed something was coming.  Something monumental was coming faster than Sonic could ever dream of running.  The fate of the world would hang in the balance.

The Chaotix counted their notes as their client handed them their pay.  They would now be able to update their office and pay the rent.  The case had been successful, and now they intended to enjoy a well-deserved break.

Rouge the Bat placed her newest jewel in a small glass case, grinning at its pink brilliance.  Maybe she would have it made into a pendant, to match her pink hearts and lipstick on her outfit.

Cream, Cheese and Big snuffled gaily as they frolicked in their happy dreams, cocooned in the duvets of their beds.

Tails panted, ready to get to bed very late; for a 13-year-old.  The X Tornado was finished, polished, updated and fixed from its last battering with Eggman.

The good old Doctor mopped his brow and fell fast asleep on his desk.  It had been a long day and he needed his rest.

In the darkness, something else was gloriously, perfectly awake.  Ears swivelling to detect sound and tail swishing impatiently from side to side, cautiously sniffing the air for the scent of excitement, a pair of glowing, beautiful glacially icy blue eyes blinked once.  

The mouth curved into an elegant smile.
